Social networking production software in the pipeline...

News: 15th June 2010 by Stef Loukes under Recording & Production

Burn Studios, a new online venture developed by Exploding Plastic could potentially shake-up the production world. Using cloud based programming, Burn Studios will allow it's users to produce music using the software free of charge. "We are not giving music for free, we are giving access to creativity for free," commented Bobby Simms from Exploding Plastic.

Ben Turner, co-founder of the International Music Summit believes that "whether you are a 15-year-old kid or an established producer, this puts you on a level playing field". The software will also act as a social networking site, allowing users to contribute to each other's music in order to complete a song.

Ben Turner seems to think we could have wannabe producers as young as 12 creating music worthy enough to be played in nightclubs. Burn Studios is due to launch early next year, but it is certainly something to look out for.
