The recession has forced A&R professionals to take stock of their situation and utilise all of their music related skills in order to further succeed in the industry without their once secure job at a major label. Working what seems to be on a consultant level for commission based salaries across a variety of different levels (not just sticking to A&R) are growing steadily, with a big part of that placed on the popularity of digital.
