Are teenagers are being snubbed by the industry?

Although recent figures suggest that British teenagers are spending more on their music than any other age group and despite that 25-34 year olds are responsible for more illegal downloads than anyone else, it appears 13-18 year olds are still being undermined by the general music industry. Rhodri Marsden's article in The Independent today suggests the industry needs look closer at spending trends, and realise the competition from external media is now far greater than it used to be. He comments that, "teenagers are bombarded with product information from thousands of companies desperate to confer some kind of coolness upon their brand" and that they are "sophisticated consumers".

Very interesting indeed!
