Years ago the unsigned artist was hidden away, struggling to be noticed amongst the rest of the unknown bands and artists out there. These days it's quite a different story. All the major festivals run competitions to find the best new talent for their stages, large organisations and brands such as Red Bull, Samsung and Red Stripe announce their searches for emerging bands. Even globe-trotting bands such as Bon Jovi and Stereophonics have put the call out to find unsigned acts to open their shows. The time really has never been better to be unsigned...
