The Unsigned Guide Spotlight: July 2026

Jessie & The Revolvers - '25'

Since unleashing their debut single 'Self Obsessed' back in 2025, Jessie & The Revolvers have been building a solid reputation with their captivating rock sound, laced with a tinge of Americana, and always with a strong focus on melody.

The band's current single '25' ticks all the aforementioned boxes, and Jessie tells us more about what inspired the song; "The song began with an idea shared with me by an old friend, but it quickly developed into something much more personal. I took it in my own direction and built it into what it is today. The lyrics were written around experiences from my younger years, particularly conversations I had with my therapist while navigating mental health challenges. Writing it gave me a chance to reflect on that time and turn it into something honest and meaningful. Although it comes from a personal place, the emotions behind it are something I think many people can relate to."

So far, all singles dropped by Jessie & The Revolvers have stirred up support, with radio airplay from the likes of Leek Radio, BBC Introducing, and Radio X, where track 'Long Gone' was picked up by both John Kennedy's X-Posure show, as well as Chris Moyles who invited the band onto his breakfast show for a chat.

Another high point for the band was being crowned Best Young Act at the 2026 Stoke & Cheshire Music Awards; a well earned recognition of all the hard work they've put into building a presence on their local music scene.

Over the coming months, the four-piece will be bringing us more new music, as well as spending some time in the studio. In the meantime, you can grab a copy of their latest CD here, featuring unreleased bonus track 'Eternal Time', and if you want a dose of their live energy, you can catch them playing later this week, supporting Fine Lines at Artisan Tap, Stoke on 10th July.

Band EVERYMAN posing against red brick warehouse wall for the unsigned guide spotlight July 2026 feature

EVERYMAN - 'Days Unknown'

If you like your indie music of the melodic variety, with added jangly edge, then look no further than Manchester band EVERYMAN whose current single 'Days Unknown' tackles the subject of feeling stranded in a 'place' you may have outgrown.

Recorded at Bill Ryder-Jones' facility, YAWN Studios, with acclaimed producer Nathaniel Laurence, the band elaborate on how the song came to life;

"The track started with what's now the verse chord progression, and the whole thing was built up bit by bit from there. Structurally it was very much sculpted, rather than written in one go. Lyrically it comes from a place of real struggle. Everything in the verses is metaphor, none of it is literally happening, it's describing the mental state you're in when you're struggling rather than actual events. The chorus is where the real feeling comes through, that sense of having outgrown the person you're with, or realising the situation isn't good for you anymore, and what that does to your head. It was originally written as a very sad acoustic song, and it only became what it is now once we played it through as a full band."

EVERYMAN are certainly riding high with some stellar gigs under their belt, including support slots for The Slates, The Cases, as well as their own sold out headline shows at The Deaf Institute and Off The Square.

With previous singles 'Ride Along' and 'Unnoticed' breaking through 100,000 combined streams, and a slot at Isle of Wight Festival in the bag, it's an impressive roster of achievements for a band who've been together just over 12 months.

Although the members of EVERYMAN will be heading to LIPA in Liverpool from July onwards, they've still managed to squeeze in a hotly-anticipated headline gig at Manchester's Deaf Institute on 24th July, and have big plans beyond that; "The live calendar will keep growing through the autumn and we've got plenty of new material in the works that we're genuinely excited about."

Singer songwriter Danxgerous lying on grass with flowers in hair for The Unsigned Guide Spotlight July 2026 feature

Danxgerous - 'Clairvoyant'

With her debut album set to drop this October, singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Danxgerous, aka Daniela Mariti, masterfully weaves together dreamy, hypnotic alt pop with folky, melancholic guitars on her current single 'Clairvoyant', which she tells us more about;

"Clairvoyant came about on a late-summer morning, when September was around the corner, and with it the sense of being clueless about the future and new resolutions. That's when the idea of a clairvoyant who couldn't see a future for me inside the empty crystal ball, and who would laugh at me, made its way inside my head. The song then changed and evolved a lot throughout the months until we recorded it in February 2025 in San Francisco: the original chorus became the acoustic guitar solo in the bridge part and the verses became shorter and punchier."

Invited to perform at SXSW in both 2024 and 2026, Dangxerous acknowledges this as one of her grandest accomplishments to date; "It's one of the most iconic showcases out there. To be able to play in the US at all was such a dream come true for me, and to do that at the event of such an important context was so big."

With 'Clairvoyant' being just the first chapter of Dangxerous' upcoming album 'Old Soul', coming out via independent label We Were Never Being Boring on 16th October, we can expect more fresh material from the album over the coming months, including a second single in September.

Currently relocating to the UK from Italy, Dangxerous is keen to play some live shows on new turf, so there should be gig news in the pipeline; "I'm planning some shows and I can't wait to play this album live on stages around the world."

Producer and DJ Echo Juliet with red hair posed in dried grass field for The Unsigned Guide Spotlight July 2026 feature

Echo Juliet - 'Vitamin D'

Creating dreamy, electronic music influenced by deep house and classical percussion, DJ and producer Echo Juliet switched out her Classical music degree for Ableton, a midi vibraphone and decks to start crafting her own sounds.

Our selected Spotlight single 'Vitamin D' certainly brings the chilled, summer vibes, although the process of making this track was somewhat cathartic, as Echo Juliet indicates;

"All of the music I'm releasing at the moment was made during some tough times - creating music became an antidote for what my family and I were going through a couple of years ago. As a way to cope, I built a daily ritual of producing and then walking in green spaces while listening back to what I made. 'Vitamin D' originally started life as 'Affirmation', my first release in 2021 - I made a high-energy version of 'Affirmation' to play in my live electronic sets, but through those walks it evolved into something new. It's amazing how music and sunshine can restore your positive energy and determination, and with 'Vitamin D' I tried to capture that feeling - it's warm and full of birdsong and buzzing bees. (Sorry if the bees make you jump!)"

So far this year, Echo Juliet has received some staggering support… "it's been one of the biggest moments for me - in the last couple of months I've been in DJ Mag's list of emerging artists you should know, Resident Advisor's staff picks, and 'Best Electronic' on Bandcamp Daily, who compared my music to classic Four Tet (huge compliment!). My sound has also been compared to Gold Panda, and off the back of that he remixed a track from my last EP. I've had lots of support from BBC 6Music over the years too, across daytime and specialist shows like Gilles Peterson, Cerys Matthews, Steve Lamacq and Gideon Coe, which has been amazing."

Another project close to Echo Juliet's heart is the Future Proof programme set up by label Rhythm Section, which she is proud to be a co-founder of. Future Proof supports producers and DJs from under-represented backgrounds in electronic music. Through this Echo Juliet has been able to bring many women and gender minority folks into producing electronic music through the Ableton courses she teaches for Saffron and Selextorhood.

As if she wasn't busy enough, EJ recently played her first headline live electronic show in London, promoted by Percolate, and a couple of weeks beforehand supported Max Cooper at Symphony Hall in Birmingham.

With a fresh EP, Feeling Lost, dropping later this week on 9th July, things are not slowing down any time soon. There are more new singles to come, plus a remix she did for Yarni coming out on 7th August. Catch Echo Juliet over the summer playing at We Out Here festival, plus a special ambient live set in Birmingham.

Alt pop duo Forget Them Wendy in the Unsigned Guide Spotlight, posed against a light blue background in black and white

Forget Them Wendy - 'Wise Guy'

Strongly influenced by bands of the '90s including Garbage, The Cranberries, The Breeders and Smashing Pumpkins, indie pop duo Forget Them Wendy are Newcastle based songwriter, Laura, and Edinburgh born producer and guitarist, Oliver.

The pair's affectionately playful dynamic is demonstrated on current single 'Wise Guy', which builds subtly, starting with calming, pared back instruments topped by Laura's gentle vocals, before erupting into a grunge-laden chorus.

Oliver tells us what sparked the song; "I had a friend staying for my birthday while Laura and I were writing the album. My friend and I got into a silly argument and I suppose Laura thought I was behaving like a know-it-all wise guy because she wrote me this lovely song for my birthday... charming."

With strong support so far from BBC Introducing, who have named previous singles 'Dead in the Water' and 'Plug It In' as their Tracks of the Week, Forget Them Wendy aim to keep the momentum going with more single releases throughout the year. Keep an eye on their socials for news on releases, plus the unveiling of their debut album, expected to land in January 2027.
