Clark Rainbow - ‘BSOD’
If you’re ready for a dose of infectious hyperpop with an early 2010s vibe, then look no further than Clark Rainbow’s highly contagious, sugary dance pop hit ‘BSOD’.
Writing, singing, producing, mixing and mastering all her electronic pop gems from her bedroom in Buckinghamshire, Clark tells us more about where her influences originate from; “A lot of my production influences come from being a nerdy kid and loving the electronic music from the Nintendo DS and Wii, as well as J-Pop and anime adjacent music, but I also love to combine those with girly and upbeat vocals similar to PinkPantheress, piri & tommy and Magdalena Bay.”
As for the song in question, Clark explains the meaning behind ‘BSOD’, both literally and figuratively; “'BSOD' is a song I wrote about the time I downloaded too many Sims 4 mods and my PC blue screened and some of my files were unrecoverable - hence 'BSOD' - Blue Screen of Death. In a broader sense, the song is about my relationship with the internet and my computer, and how that relationship can sometimes consume my external life, and make it feel hard to distinguish between reality and online life. That's why I wrote it so the lyrics can also be read as a failing relationship with another person as well.”
Since first uploading her own music in May 2025, Clark has snagged over 1 million streams of her song ‘BeReal’, as well as reaching over 200k monthly listeners…and growing! BBC Introducing are also hot on Clark’s tail with plenty of airplay for both ‘BSOD’ and her other single ‘Harajuku Girl’.
Back in October she supported US artist Take Van at London’s Folklore, and aims to venture beyond her bedroom studio soon as she unleashes new material in the coming months;
“I've been cooped up in my bedroom producing and writing, because I'm working on my little digital music world, preparing to release an EP in early 2026. Past that, everyone can expect lots more live shows all around the UK over the next year!”

Jarpsy - ‘Happy Yet?’
Sunderland band Jarpsy are nimbly occupying the space between indie rock and modern alternative, with the addition of lilting melodies and punchy guitars to give their sound an uplifting edge.
A prime example of the fourpiece’s dynamic ‘council pop’ style is their single ‘Happy Yet?’ which they knew had the makings of an indie anthem from the get-go;
“‘Happy Yet?’ was born out of one of Gary's magic Garageband projects, and as soon as the rest of us heard it we knew that we had to work on it immediately! The song itself kind of flips the traditional break up song on its head; it's introspective but not in the sense of blaming yourself or being down about it. It looks at the mistakes and attitudes from both sides of the relationship and how ultimately, you're still always going to have feelings for that person, even if you feel some sort of anger or frustration at the time.”
Renowned for their energetic live shows, and accumulating a fierce following in their native North East, it’s no surprise that Jarpsy were asked to support Sticky Fingers when they came to the UK in 2023. “We supported them across all of their dates playing in front of thousands of people each night and it was the best experience we've had.”
With continued support from BBC Introducing in the North East, including crowning previous single 'Ocean Sounds' as their Track of the Week, there’s no doubt that the band’s forthcoming releases will also be destined for the airwaves.
Their next single ‘Better Days Alone’ is set for release in February and Jarpsy are busy planning some more sell-out North East shows for March, with the aim of heading out to the rest of the country later in the year, so watch this space!

Tachian - ‘Overgreen’
Fusing electronica, IDM and future garage, Birmingham duo Tachian have come out swinging with their immersive debut single ‘Overgreen’, which has already been picked up by BBC Introducing and online blogs and curators.
Expanding on the pair’s combined experience as producers, Adam and Nick breakdown their sound and ethos under their new moniker;
“We love working with detuned synths, fractured, garage-inspired vocal textures and ambient backdrops, always going for something that feels both futuristic and decayed. The aim with our tracks is to sit between more experimental electronic sounds and something you’d hear in a club.”

Selecting ‘Overgreen’ as their first release, “it perfectly captures what we want Tachian to be: strange granular rhythms with emotional weight and genuine songwriting at the core”, the duo tell us more about how the track came to life;
“‘Overgreen’ is one of three tracks that grew out of a series of jams we had a few years ago. At the time we were just starting to dip our toes into synthesisers, samplers and hardware, having fun outside of the individual projects we were each working on. As we carried on experimenting, we quickly found a specific sound, and ‘Overgreen’ felt like a statement of this. The track is especially important to us because it was written during a period of mourning a close friend we lost. It became the first track we fully put together for this project, and the process of making it helped pull us back into everyday life. We feel that sense of emotion is reflected in the chord choices and the sounds we gravitated toward.”
With much more material in the bag, and a debut EP ready to go, Tachian are focusing on developing their live show; “We want a Tachian performance to be more than two DJs, building a set that blends live synthesis, drum sampling and hardware.”
Look out for their next single ‘Red Giant’ which will be unveiled on 16th January, and be sure to keep your gaze fixed on Tachian in 2026 as they build on a supremely solid start.

Eckø - ‘Magpie’
With descriptions of their sound ranging from “if Oasis and Kasabian had a baby” (The Sun’s Ellie Henmann) to “sonically unhinged” (The Travellers Tunes blog), and with the occasional Arctic Monkeys comparison thrown into the mix, it’s probably best to dive in to listen and decide for yourself, with the Glasgow band’s single ‘Magpie’ being a great jumping-off point.
A long-time live favourite among the band and their fans, ‘Magpie’ was regenerated in the studio by accident;
“It’s a song about obsessive material possession and how empty and shallow it really is. Musically it follows the same theme - it’s a four way battle between the lyrics, the lead, the baseline and the drums each trying to grab the shiny thing. ‘Magpie’ really takes off live and we’d been playing it for a while and loving the reaction it gets from folks who’ve never heard us before. We actually went into the studio to record something else and it wasn’t quite coming together so we jumped across to ‘Magpie’ and it just worked there and then.”
To date the four-piece have enjoyed high points including supporting Vida at King Tuts, playing Shiiine On Festival to a capacity crowd of 1,500, as well as having previous single ‘Danny MacKenzie’ featured on playlists and even picked up by student radio in the US.
So what does 2026 have in store for Eckø? Keen to get their festival schedule booked for the season ahead, the band are also open to outside input when it comes to selecting new material; “There are a bunch of free to listen demos on our SoundCloud. https://soundcloud.com/user-729915052 If anyone wants to vote any track up for a studio recording, pop us a message.”

Bye Lily - ‘First Day of Winter’
Lulling us into a new year are the soothing vocals and captivating indie folk sounds of Bye Lily, aka singer songwriter Samuel Krishnan. He tells us the story about how his dreamy and delicate song ‘First Day of Winter’ came about;
“‘First Day of Winter’ was written following a heartbreak involving someone I used to date. We were never officially in a relationship, but the situationship carried a lot of emotional weight. We had different priorities, and watching her slowly drift away, caring less and becoming more distant, was incredibly painful. I wrote the song at a point when I still had hope for us. Unfortunately, by the time the song was finished, she had entered a relationship with someone else, leaving me heartbroken. This all happened in December 2024. The track felt like a natural fit for my EP ‘Voicenotes’, as the project dives deeply into some of my most significant heartbreaks and difficult moments from the past few years.”
So far Samuel has been busy building strong foundations within his local music scene, playing 15-20 gigs across Suffolk during his first year of playing live. And most notably, he unveiled his deeply personal debut EP ‘Voicenotes’ in December 2025, culminating 2 years of work with the release entirely written, recorded and produced by Samuel himself.
His most recent single ‘River Stour’ features underground hip-hop artist Onoe Caponoe and has picked up reviews across regional press. All singles taken from the EP to date have received airplay on BBC Suffolk via BBC Introducing, so now naturally 2026 heralds the time for Bye Lily to reach a wider indie-folk / indie-pop audience.
Over the coming months, Samuel has more singles to share and he plans to branch out to gigs in London, whilst continuing to push ‘Voicenotes’. There’s more new material in the pipeline too so be sure to look out for more from Bye Lily in the next 12 months.
