If so….The Urban Artist School is for you!

Music education for urban artists has been overlooked by many schools and colleges.

The Urban Artist School run by Urban Development is different. An art school for urban musicians doesn't sound like a conventional music school and that is the whole idea.

At Urban Artist School two things excite us; firstly UK urban music which we believe has produced some of the most innovative and distinctly British music over the last 30 years and secondly; the potential for education to be the catalyst to enabling developing artists a space to explore, test and refine ideas.

The name of the school is more than an address, it's stands for creativity and experimentation above all else and represents our belief that urban inner city music is an art form equal to Jazz and classical music and it's creators deserve that level of respect and opportunities.

The curriculum is where the differences are made real. Our students will be expected to generate ideas quickly and respond to the creative potential of their work effectively and fluently. Students will follow a timetable combining;

Studio practice;

Rehearsal and collaboration

Bespoke tutorial input to embed and reinforce creative decisions and facilitate overall direction.

Students will get input in the following areas;

Developing their brand

Marketing their brand

Developing their repertoire

Recording studio access

Skills Development towards working as a professional musician
