Hear how Help Musicians UK can support emerging bands & artists like you!

Help Musicians UK is a charity supporting musicians throughout their careers. We are unique in not only providing funding and developmental help, but also giving specialist care and assistance at times of personal crisis, including illness and injury.

For emerging artists, we aim to provide tailored help whatever genre you’re working in, and we do this through an ever-evolving programme of grant schemes and partnerships.

2015 has seen us launch a couple of important initiatives. Our Emerging Artists Fund is a new collaboration with leading direct-to-fan platform PledgeMusic. Aimed at unsigned artists with an engaged fanbase, we’re providing grants to top-up what you raise through a pledge campaign. With panels of top industry experts involved, it’s a great opportunity to get your music heard by leading tastemakers, and access additional money to help further develop your career. For more information, visit helpmusicians.org.uk/emergingartistsfund. But be quick – the final deadline of 2015 is 30 November.

We also began working with a group of brilliant organisations around the UK who are developing talent in their region. From Belfast’s Oh Yeah Music Centre to Merseyside Arts Foundation and Cornwall Music Forum – with our support, these organisations are investing in a whole range of exciting artists and providing the kind of mentoring and advice that’s vital to a successful career. This network is something we want to expand in 2016, so that more artists can access high quality support locally and tap into the wider music industry.

Whilst funding for musicians remains incredibly competitive, in recent years funding organisations have been making their grants more accessible to unsigned bands and solo artists. To help you navigate the opportunities out there, try the Funding Wizard on our website. There are also a number of advice pages, including my Top Tips for Funding Applications.

Keep in touch with Help Musicians UK on Twitter and Facebook – and do join our mailing list to keep up-to-date with the latest campaigns and opportunities.
