#WeAreViable collective picks up momentum. Show your support to the UK's cultural industries!

News: 9th October 2020 by Stef Loukes under Artist Managers, Creative & Branding, Finance, Law & Music Business, Live, Media, Music Publishing, Music Training & Careers, Record Labels, Recording & Production, Selling & Distributing Your Music

The UK's live music and entertainment industry have pulled together to create a grassroots movement in response to the government's lack of support towards musicians, the hundreds of thousands of people employed within and on the periphery of the live music industry, as well as the cultural industries in general.

The latest blunder which displays the UK government's complete lack of understanding of the importance of these industries was Chancellor Rishi Sunak's advice for musicians and others in live music to retrain in different careers. A comment has resulted in a large backlash from musical community.

Created to bring together and unite all corners of the entertainment industry to help safeguard its future and deliver a safe return to normal, the #WeAreViable collective aims to unite every single person across all forms of the live entertainment industry in order to work with the government, local authorities and Public Health England to plan a route back to normality and help find ways to safeguard and protect one of the oldest and most successful UK industries.

If we do nothing, we will feel the impact forever!

Please join forces with the #WeAreViable movement by visiting the website below to pledge your support. You can also follow them on social media to learn more  about their manifesto and plans to recover our live music industry.
