Growth in vinyl sales heralds introduction of new vinyl-only chart

News: 14th April 2015 by Louise Dodgson under Finance, Law & Music Business, Record Labels, Selling & Distributing Your Music

Vinyl is not dead! And proof comes in the launch of a new weekly chart dedicated entirely to the format by The Official Charts Company. In 2014 record sales reached a 20 year peak which is marvellous news considering only a few years ago many independent record shops, and even large high-street chains, were shutting their doors due to a lack of desire for physical products.

Kicking off yesterday, the launch of the new vinyl chart is the perfect accompaniment to Record Store Day taking place across the UK this Saturday.
