Music industry work placements: fair game or exploitation?

Following the HRMC's recent crackdown on music companies who provide unpaid internships, this article from Jeremy Grice who is Head of Management at LIPA encourages a different point of view to work experience in the music industry and defines why not all internships should be deemed as exploitation or free labour.

The article also provides advice for universities/colleges or individuals who are thinking of embarking on an unpaid work placement to consider.
