Should album prices be reduced to as little as £1?

In The City was certainly an eventful few days with lots of music business topics up for discussion. One of the more heated debates involved ex-Warner boss Rob Dickins who commented that music sales would get a much needed boost if the prices of CDs were dropped right down....to a £1!

Obviously, this comment has been subject to a great deal of backlash with others arguing that the value of an artists' work should not be reduced to the point where it could be sold on the shelves of your local pound shop.

What do you think? And if you want to find out more of the going's on from In The City then check out these blogs written for the BBC, including one from our very own blogger Molly!! And check back in a couple of days when we'll be posting a monster blog summarising some of the panels which took place at last week's In The City.
