As Independents Day rolls around again for yet another year on July 4th this is definitely a suitable time to celebrate the UK's independent labels. This week our news round-up has details about AIM's 10th anniversary AGM, where they too plan to celebrate their indie label members.
In other highlights EMI shun PRS For Music and take music streaming matters into their own hands, plus find out about the new club night which will be championing unsigned music. Not forgetting music industry comments on the finances of festivals large & small, as well as BPI's Geoff Taylor looking back at how the music business' confusion over Napster may have cost the industry in the long run.
Also, another great competition for you this week from Kendal Calling....remember you've got to be in it to win it!
