It's play time in Manchester
While Manchester affords your average band plenty of options when it comes to which venues to populate, new opportunities are always welcome. If you’re looking for somewhere a bit different to play, then you’re in luck…
MAPS Festival returns for the May bank holiday weekend this year, and they’re on the lookout for bands and artists who can make their third outing just as successful as previous events. MAPS - which, rather neatly, stands for “music, art, poetry and stuff” - will again take over pretty much the entire Northern Quarter with a range of performances, activities and events designed to showcase the sheer eclecticism that this area of the city offers.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the city, Sound Control is in the process of getting itself properly up and running. It’s new Tuesday indie club night Control, which launched on 26 January, boasts Xfm DJ Gareth Brooks on the decks and now they’re looking for bands to kick the night off in style.
This is a great chance to be one of the first bands to play this fantastic new venue, and, as an extra bonus, both you and your audience will get free entry to the club night after.
Email if you’d like to be considered, or take a look at Sound Control’s snazzy new website () to find out more.
