Gig of the fortnight: Friends of Manchester Festival 2010, Jabez Clegg & Kro Bar, Sat 30th January
There was no way that this epic new band marathon wasn’t going to be our gig of the fortnight, really.
This mega collaborative effort between Friends of Mine and Blowout returns to the Oxford Road venues for a second year, and, while we could harp on about how great it’s going to be, it’s probably better to let the list of acts that are playing speak for itself: Pens, x-Lovers, Chew Lips, John Head (shack), Dutch Uncles, The Answering Machine, The Jessie Rose Trip, Sam Forrest (Nine Black Alps), young British Artists, Bez (dj set), The Crookes, The Witches, King Tree, Beat The Radar, Gideon Conn, Lost Knives, Vagner Lover, Plank!, Former Bullies, The hidden Revolution, Detroit Social Club, Standard Fare, Bicycle Thieves, Paris Riots, Hyacinth Girl, Butler Williams, Kin, Janice Graham Band, Rum Diamond, Suzuki Method, The Black Knights, Ottersgear, Still City Sound, Yucathan, The New Pills, Syd Bozko, Simon Conner, John Lawrence, Paperboats, Discokidz, Remember Homolulul, Chrsitopher Eatough, Mutineers, Jo Rose, Uncle Meat, Laureates, Run Toto Run, Optional Wallace, Uncle Jeff, New Street Adventure, The Planets, The Psycho, The Kings and Phre The Econ. Phew!
There’ll be six stages spread across the two venues and a barbeque (weather permitting) in the Kro garden, making this a fine day out for all musically minded Mancunians.
Tickets: £10 in advance, 2pm – 4am
